A DAY JUST FOR SUNNY!

Happy 25th Birthday to ME! Today was such a wonderful day. I started my day off with Damien at the gym where we ran on the elliptical for 45 minutes. Came home where Damien surprised me with two very sweet gifts. (Might I add that he is the most amazing partner anyone who ask for!) He bought me a flat iron from Ulta- top of the line, very, I mean extremely nice! Doesn't burn my hair like my old one. I was straightening my hair last weekend and mentioned that mine wasn't working very well so that sweet man got me a new one. He was so cute about it too. He asked me if I was going to straighten my hair today (he knows I like to do that to look pretty but don't do it very often.), I said no. He said, well you should it looks nice when you do and I know you like it. So I went into my bathroom and there in the drawer was my new flat iron.
My 2nd gift was a Garmin Colorado GPS handheld unit for geocaching. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it go to http://www.geocaching.com/. It is a great activity to do with family and/or friends, great way to get out of the house and explore the area. It's a modern day treasure hunt fun for all ages. Well I haven't been able to go since X took the GPS so now I can! YAY! It was extremely unexpected and very much appreciated.
When I arrived at work I found everything on my walls and desk to be shifted at an angle. I swear I had a headache all day from looking at it. My coworkers are so silly. To start the day we had an all-staff meeting which wasn't all that bad. They honored employees for their time spent in public service in incriments of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30 years! Wow 30 years at the same place, now that's dedication. I can see how that could happen, this is a wonderful organization to work for. (The following picture are my rose colored queen for a day glasses made just for me by Betty)
Now for the best part of the day- LUNCH! My coworkers, Damien, and Phuong from Sweet Lemon through me a wonderful birthday party. I couldn't have asked for more. Truly an amazing day. I arrived to find Damien with a gigantic sunshine balloon, Phuong got me two cupcake balloons and flowers from her own yard, and my coworkers with their suprises. We all ordered special and delicious meals- Guru Island, Eden Tofu, Pad Thai, Zen Noodles, heavenly kabobs...yummy! During lunch my co-workers shared as per my birthday request photos of themselves when they were 25 years old. I find myself continually comparing myself to them even though most of them are twice my age. It was a real treat see where they were in their lives and how they looked when they were my age. After lunch we ate cake and drank green jasmine tea and laughed and enjoyed the afternoon. Back at the office my best friend Miss Hayley came to visit me! It's crazy how some people are so connected. Last week at the gym Damien and I were watching an info-mercial about this chopping system. Damien mentioned how neat that was and how he would like to have one. I said, yes I've used them before and they are awesome. So with that intro what do you suppose Hayley got me? Yes, a chopping system. I know! Crazy unbelievable right? That is what some people refer to as the life that is Sunny. Or as Pam calls me the hub!

After work I played with my GPS unit and figured out all the fancy featured. I plugged it into my computer and was able to download local geocaches directly onto it. Awesome! Damien and I went out geocaching, it was his first time both geocaching and using a GPS unit. He enjoyed the evening and even asked about going out again. I am very happy he liked it. If any of you want to join me let me know!
My birthday dinner wasn't all that great and I was totally gipped out of a third of my meal even though I asked about it...argh! Expensive and not worth it. We will go back to our original place next time. (not even worth it to mention their name)

So on your birthday it's fun to think of all the places that give out free stuff. I could only think of one but I go every year. Hollywood Video will give you a free rental, even new releases for your birthday. Since I get so many redbox codes I elected to choose on not heavily marketed. I usually enjoy the mellow alternative movies more anyway. Looking forward to watching "The Visitor" sometime this weekend.

What a wonderful day! Thank you to everyone who called me, text messaged me, visited me, etc. I love all of you and appreciate you making this day so special!
